Best Ever MnM CoOkIeS Possible....

these cookies rock your socks off and are just fabulous with a big bowl of ice cream...i used tons of the MnMs and you can change out the colors depending on the time of the year for a cute touch. Also I added plenty of extra vanilla for a special kick, and a like normal way more than needed candy. Enjoy these are easy to make, for sure a crowd pleaser, and only need a few minutes in the oven. My oven bakes fast so I gave them about 9 minutes total just a touch of golden brown and they were perfect. I like to transfer them to a cool surface, using parchment paper or foil so they do not bake on the sheet pan after coming out of the oven.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups candy-coated milk chocolate pieces

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix sugar, eggs, shortening, and vanilla thoroughly. Add flour, salt, and baking soda to creamed mixture. Blend well. Add 3/4 cup of M&M candies.
  2. Drop dough by teaspoonful onto cookie sheet. Slightly push a few candies on top of each dough ball with remaining candies.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 9 to 11 minutes, to your liking.

Heath Bar Cookies...and just as fabulous...

I doubled the recipe above for the MnM cookies and instead of using all MnM's i decided to go with a second choice of Heath Bars for the filling. Simply divide the plain dough in half and place second portion wrapped in saran wrap in fridge to stay nice and cool. When ready place in mixing bowl, and add candy. I used the miniature Heath bars and crushed them up by using the back portion of an Ice Cream scooper. This was a very simple and clean process because i crushed the little bars individually in their pre-packaged bags and once they were crushed then I simply poured the contents into the batter. Do not use a blender any further at this point instead use a large spoon to gently incorporate the candy. Once combined then roll the dough into balls and smash down with spoon to make nice even cookies. Bake again same as above recommended 9-11 minutes at 350 degrees. Again they were fabulous and delicious.....
